Neighborhood Blasts…Matter to Everyone
Posted by: | Comments
Have you ever walked in the neighborhood of your church? Now may be a great time to get comfortable shoes, gather a group and walk the community. Last Saturday, I lead a group of members who wanted to do a neighborhood blast for the summer activities at their church. We started at 11 am and ended close to 1:30 pm. We began with prayer as we started this journey.

e-BLASTS 101
E-Blasts is a term used when multiple emails are being sent with one message. In the cases of ministries, e-blasts may be weekly, monthly or otherwise. Lots of churches use this method of communication to reach out to members as well as guests who have visited or attended ministries at the church.
Some growing churches use e-blasts to share inspirational messages, devotions, announcements about events, invitations to special events, updates on the ministry and other information.

Special Days: Special Invite Days
Posted by: | CommentsFive Reasons to Plan to Reach Out
PONDER THIS: Due to a job change, a young woman, Carla recently moved in to your community. She is in the process of transitioning from a city 200 miles away. As she works in town during the week and journeys back home on weekends, she wonders if she will ever find a group of friends that make her want to stay on weekends in her new community. Carla’s new home is next door to two of your church members. Will they invite Carla to Church? How can we feel more assured that members will think to invite newcomers, family members, co-workers and even neighbors to visit your church? Recently in our teleseminar, Excite Members to Invite we explored this topic. Too often members do not invite because they simply do not think about inviting. There are lots of other reasons that keep inviting from being top of mind. However, if we want to break through and excite members to invite, you may have to build awareness and help bring inviting top of mind. Why not plan a special Sunday like “Friends & Family Sunday”?

Email is convenient and an effective way to reach out or publicize worship services or events. It can also be a way to keep connected after an event is over. Once people have attended a ministry event, Vacation Bible School or a worship service, make sure you have their email to contact them again. Research shows people may need to hear from us at least 7 times to connect with the message. This section shares ways to communicate via email. CLICK on the sample to see an explanation of each tool.
e-Vite
Evites are email invitations. You may hear us refer to them as e-blasts too. Once you set up an email database and a method to distribute bulk emails at one time, you can start sending evites. Depending on the message, evites can be invitations to worship services, special events or simply meeting reminders. You may need a publishing software to create your graphic design and e-vite. Some email marketing services come with template designs that you may send as your evite.. The key essential is that you have an email database and an email service to send bulk emails. Some church website templates come with this as an option. Here’s a sample of e-vite
