Visitor Cards…Powerful Evangelism Tools!
Posted by: | Comments
Will you get enough information to engage worship guests in your ministry? Visitor cards vary from congregation to congregation. In fact, some churches do not have cards at all. Wow. One of the best ways to gather data and begin a relationship with worship guests is through your visitor cards. Effective outreach is greatly dependent on your congregation’s understanding of who your visitors are and how to reach out to them. Reaching out does matter. The more touches your congregation shares with a first-time visitor the greater the likelihood of a return visit.
Invite Newcomers to Connect with You

Will this congregation be friendly? This question is on the minds of most newcomers when they visit your church on Sunday morning. After the warm greetings and quick good mornings, what will your members do to move outsiders from “outside” to inside? The answer to that question will determine whether second, third and fourth time visitors see your church as a warm and friendly congregation. One of the keys to being considered warm is building bridges to relationships. After all people connect with people. As great as your place of worship (the building) may be, it is the people that will make the difference. Encouraging and creating relationships will help newcomers see your congregation as “friendly.”
Welcoming When Life Changes…
Posted by: | CommentsPonder This: Lisa and Bryan have just gotten the news; Bryan’s job will be laying him off by December 1st. This seems to come at the worst time. Lisa just gave birth to their infant daughter two months ago. They moved into their home right before the baby came. Now Bryan will be out of work at Christmas. Interestingly Bryan and Lisa visited a church a few months ago but did not return. Now they are facing some of the biggest challenges they have experienced in their 3 years of marriage. Will anyone in your church invite Bryan and Lisa this holiday?
Who Will Invite the Community Kids?

Ponder this: Six months ago, Nick and Megan moved into an apartment two blocks from three churches. They have two school aged kids, six and eight years old. As a child, Megan participated in summer camps, Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. However, since living in her new community, her family has not connected with a church. In fact, no one has invited her. School is almost out and Megan desires to find something fun for the kids to do. Her dilema is she does not want to spend much money. Will she find out about your congregation’s summer activities for children?
